June 16, 2009 Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely have teamed up before Batman and Robin #1 for a Vertigo title, WE3. You may have heard of it. The comic’s plot is centered around three animals that are weaponized as part of a secret military program; a dog (Bandit), a cat (Tinker) and a rabbit (Pirate). The comic focuses on their escape and as well as their adventures. According to SciFiWire, film producer Don Stevenson is planning on bringing the three fluffy cyborgs to the big screen. The film’s producer ensures us that the film will be done in live action.
It’s going to be a combination CG, puppetry [and] real animals. We have a great script, a great director, and we’re trying to figure out who’s going to pay for it in this marketplace, but we’re looking.”
