Infinite Horizon Comic Book Optioned

May 5, 2015 Warner Bros. has preemptively picked up The Infinite Horizon, a package that includes the rights to the miniseries from Image Comics as well as a script by Ryan Condal.

Greg Berlanti, the wunderkind writer and producer behind such TV shows as Arrow, The Flash and Brothers & Sisters, is on board to produce with Berlanti Productions’ Sarah Schechter. Lawrence Grey (Section 6) is also producing. Condal is exec producing.

The six-issue miniseries takes its cues from Homer’s The Odyssey to tell a military story set in the near future about a soldier who leads a group of abandoned soldiers on a 10-year journey back home. Along the way, he faces shipwrecks, an opponent wearing Cyclops-like battle tech armor and the call of sirens.

The first issue of the comic was published in 2007, with writer Gerry Duggan and artist Phil Noto taking their own odyssey to complete the story — the sixth issue didn’t come out until 2011.

Drew Crevello and Julia Spiro are oveseeing for the studio.
