Hack/Slash Comic Book Optioned

October 15, 2015

Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli’s Image Comics series “Hack/Slash” is in development as a television series at Relativity Television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Hitman” scribe Skip Woods is on board to pen the script.

The comic series follows Cassie Hack, a young woman who survived a horror movie scenario. Emotionally damaged, she uses her experience to hunt down killers across the country with “a burly protector” named Vlad. In her adventures, she faces slashers like “Halloween’s” Michael Myers, “Friday the 13th’s” Jason Voorhees and “A Nightmare on Elm Street’s” Freddy Krueger.

Woods will executive produce the project with Daniel Alter and Geoffrey Yim. Adrian Askarieh, who first optioned the comic back in 2005, and Ray Ricord will also produce. They are reportedly seeking directors “with the goal to make it a dark and gritty show in ‘The Walking Dead’ mold.”

Originally, “Hack/Slash” was planned to be a film at Relativity with directors such as Marcus Nispel, Fredrik Bond and Todd Lincoln and writers like Justin Marks and Stephen Susco attached.
