Lance Barnes Post Nuke Dick #1 Comic Book. First Printing in NM Condition. Publisher/Year: Marvel Comics, April 1993
Dystopian Dick Lance Barnes is now one step closer to the silver screen.
Rick Friedberg director of “Spy Hard” has officially optioned the award winning screenplay by Stefan Petrucha based on his original comic book for an advance against a potential six figures. Friedberg, an award winning TV commercial and music video director, also directed a series of satirical golf videos starring Leslie Nielsen and the “Wish Bank” episode of the revived Twilight Zone series.
As per previous releases, cult favorite funnyman Matt Frewer (of “Max Headroom” and Stephen Spielberg’s “Taken” fame) is attached to star as Lance, and Scott Billups (“Mulholland Drive”) is attached as Visual Effects Supervisor. Everyone is not only terribly attached, but ridiculously fond of the project.
For those not fortunate enough to recall, “Lance Barnes: Post Nuke Dick” was a four issue mini-series from Marvel’s original Epic Line that chronicled the adventures of the guilt-ridden detective and his one-legged secretary, Peg, in the mutant-laden and hysterically funny remnants of a near-dead mankind. Art was by Barry Crain.
